According to Safe Kids Worldwide, more than 180,000 children are treated in the ER for a toy-related injury each year. Winter holidays are right around the corner and Prevent Blindness America is encouraging the public to consider the safety and age range of toys they are gifting this year. When shopping for safe toys, choose those that are appropriate for a child’s age and individual ability. When purchasing gifts, please check for an ATSM label which indicates the item has met the American Society for Testing and Materials standards.
