Communicable Diseases: Commonly known as, infectious diseases, are caused by microorganisms which can spread person to person. Communicable diseases can be prevented by vaccines, good handwashing, seeking medical help, using contraception (condoms), and educating yourself on how to take extra precautions from disease vectors (Zika and Lyme disease). Communicable diseases are being monitored by local, state, and federal health officials who help to promote quality education on how to protect you and your family members. Personal action is a huge key to success in defending off communicable diseases; get educated, wash your hands, get vaccinated, and talk to your local health department to find out other tips/tricks to use.
